Overcast Family Photoshoot | Gold Coast
The number one question I get asked about outdoor sunset photoshoots is… but what if it is raining or overcast on the day of my session?
The one thing us photographers cannot control (unfortunately) is the weather. Being a photographer, I am now a qualified meteorologist, studying multiple weather apps in the lead up to sessions, knowing the speed and direction of the wind and understanding the colour meanings on the radar.
I know I’m not the only one…
When you have an outdoor sunset photoshoot with me, I want you to love your images. If it is raining, we will definitely reschedule but if it is overcast, collectively we can make a call on if we will risk it or reschedule. If we do go ahead on an overcast day, there are just a couple of things I’d love to point out:
Overcast lighting is beautiful, it is soft and naturally diffused.
We will still capture the love and connection within your family.
The sky may be a little moody and I may move around a little to make sure I am capturing the best light
The session experience would be exactly the same as it would be if the sun were out
The result? Beautiful loved up images!
